Amanda Bakker
Amanda Bakker joined Cibinel Architecture as an Architect in 2024. She worked for six years as an architectural intern in Alberta, prior to returning to Winnipeg to work in 2021. She holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Brunswick. She is also a former Team Canada athlete (Volleyball).
Brenda Van Raes
Brenda Van Raes received her CGA designation in 1995 and her CPA designation in September 2015. Before joining Cibinel Architecture in 2018, Brenda spent 26 years at St. Mary’s Academy as the Accountant. While studying for her CGA designation, Brenda served on the Student Council and the Manitoba CGA Board of Governors as a student representative. Brenda served on the Manitoba CGA Board of Governors again from 2011 to 2015. Brenda has been active on many CGA and CPA committees and marked courses for CGA Manitoba.
Collin Lamoureux
Collin Lamoureux joined Cibinel Architecture as an Architectural Intern in 2021. He received his Master of Architecture degree and his Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba. Prior to joining Cibinel, Collin worked as a Project Director at EQ3 Furniture for three years focusing on the architectural design and development of their retail showrooms.
Connie Jantz
Connie Jantz joined Cibinel Architecture as the Proposal and Marketing Coordinator in 2022. She holds both a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba and a Certificate in Marketing from the University of Winnipeg. She has an extensive background in publishing, graphic design, and writing.
Desmond Burke
Desmond Burke joined Cibinel Architecture in 2014 as a Senior Architect. Desmond received his Master of Architecture degree and his Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Manitoba. With over 30 years of professional experience, Desmond is keenly attuned to the needs of projects through all phases, especially building code analysis and construction administration.
George Cibinel
George Cibinel holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Carleton University and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Manitoba. George’s passion for architecture comes from the discipline’s inherent nature of being both art and science. As President of Cibinel Architecture Ltd, George brings over 30 years of design, construction and management experience to projects.
Jeramee Fajardo
Jeramee Fajardo joined Cibinel Architecture as an Architectural Intern in Oct 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design (2020) and Master of Architecture (2023) from the University of Manitoba. His interest lies in the participatory nature of architecture and how it can help promote well-being in communities through spatial conditions that builds inclusivity, place-making, and an appreciation for the natural environment.
Kevin Koskie
Kevin Koskie joined Cibinel Architecture as a contract administrator in Aug 2024. He is an experienced project manager and a Red Seal Carpenter (Journeyman Certificate) with extensive additional training. He brings an ethic of research, problem solving, collaboration, and 20 years of building experience to his role with Cibinel.
Kyle Janzen
Kyle Janzen has been in the practice of Architecture for 10 years. Kyle received his Master of Architecture degree and his Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba. Kyle is a recipient of a Manitoba Arts Creation Grant and a Winnipeg Arts Council Art Individual Grant. In 2014, he was awarded an Architizer A+ Award in Art + Architecture for an installation at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
Lauren Hauser
Lauren Hauser received her Master of Architecture degree and Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba. Lauren joined Cibinel Architecture in 2006 and is an Architect with over 15 years of professional experience. She has worked on a range of projects spanning academic, office, and commercial facilities.
Lindsay Mirecki
Lindsay Mirecki is a graduate of the Master of Architecture program from Carleton University and has been an Architectural Intern with Cibinel Architecture since the fall of 2022. Before joining Cibinel, she had amassed seven years of experience as a designer, project manager, and architectural intern with other architectural firms.
Mahbod Noroozi
Mahbod Noroozi joined Cibinel Architecture as an Architectural Intern in late 2023. He is currently a student of the Master of Architecture degree program at the University of Manitoba. Mahbod is originally from Iran, where he worked with several architectural firms while completing a Bachelor of Architecture at the Azad University of Tehran.
Mallory Briggs
Mallory Briggs completed her undergraduate degree at Carleton University and moved to Winnipeg to complete her Master of Architecture at the University of Manitoba. Mallory joined Cibinel Architecture in 2014 and is currently overseeing the construction of 308 Colony, a mixed-use residential high-rise building for the UWCRC2.0.
Matt Cibinel
Matt Cibinel earned his Master of Architecture degree and Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba. Since joining the firm in 2007, he’s played a vital role in a broad spectrum of projects, contributing his expertise throughout various development stages.
Michael Acht
Michael Acht joined Cibinel Architecture in 2014 as a Partner of the firm and has been in practice for over 15 years. Michael received his Master of Architecture degree and his Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba. He also completed a Master Foreign Studio at the Technische Universitat Berlin in Germany. In 2005 Michael received the prestigious Prix de Rome in Architecture for Emerging Practitioners.
Michael Robertson
Michael Robertson joined Cibinel Architecture as Partner and Principal Architect in 2014 and has been in practice for 18 years. Michael received his Master of Architecture degree and his Bachelor Arts, Cultural Anthropology from the University of Manitoba. Michael has developed expertise designing and delivering major capital projects with academic, institutional and culturally focused clients.
Nicholas Epp
Nicholas Epp joined Cibinel Architecture as an Architectural Designer in 2022. He has completed the Bachelor of Environmental Design program and is currently enrolled in the Masters program at the Department of Architecture, University of Manitoba.
Paulette Taillefer
Paulette Taillefer joined Cibinel Architecture in late 2023. She has worked in architecture for over 15 years in Montréal after completing her Master of Architecture at the Université de Montréal. She is currently working on her Passive House Designer Certification.
Shahista Saiyed
Shahista Saiyed joined Cibinel Architecture as an Architectural Intern in June 2024. She brings several years of international experience to her role with an architectural career that began in 2012 in India. Since then, Shahista has emigrated to Canada where she has amassed additional experience as an Architectural Designer. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Gujarat University (India).
Steff Beernaerts
Steff Beernaerts joined Cibinel Architecture in 2015 as a Design Architect. Steff received her Master of Architecture degree in 2011 and her Bachelor of Environmental Studies in 2007 from the University of Manitoba. Steff brings over 10 years of experience in all architectural project phases on a range of projects spanning academic, institutional, and cultural facilities.
Terry Danelley
Terry joined Cibinel Architecture at the end of 2023 as a senior architect and advisor on contract. He brings a wealth of experience based upon his 23-year role as a principal architect and design team leader at LM Architectural Group. Terry has a passionate love of design and is an invaluable mentor and inspiring project leader.
Trevor Thimm
Trevor Thimm joined Cibinel Architecture in 2018 as a Senior Designer and Project Manager. He was an Associate in the Vancouver studio of DIALOG as well as an Associate at Moshe Safdie and Associates in Boston. Trevor holds degrees in Environmental Design and Architecture from both Dalhousie University and the University of Manitoba and has over 20 years of international experience.
