She is also a former Team Canada athlete (Volleyball).

Brenda received her CGA designation in 1995 and her CPA designation in September 2015. While studying for her CGA designation, she served on the Student Council and the Manitoba CGA Board of Governors as a Student Representative. Brenda served on the Manitoba CGA Board of Governors again from 2011 to 2015. Brenda has been active on many CGA and CPA committees and marked courses for CGA Manitoba.

In 2014, he was awarded an Architizer A+ Award in Art + Architecture for an installation at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
