The Cambridge Bay Kitikmeot Region Branch Nunavut Arctic College has consisted of several buildings dispersed throughout the community. The new Kitikmeot Campus Building (KCB) is Phase 2 of a general master plan for future growth and integration of the campus to one location on the north edge of the growing community.

Once completed, the campus building will provide training facilities for Social Services Workers, Adult Basic Education, Environment Technology, College Foundations, Early Childhood Education, Mine Training Coordinator, Teacher Education, Fur Production, Culinary Arts and Trades Access as well as a student resources centre and several administration/instructor spaces. The quality of the design of these facilities will impact their utility as state-of-the art learning spaces as well as the efficiency and economy of construction. As a teaching and learning environment, the College will rely on flexible spaces that are easy and economical to adapt.

The placement of core building systems, zoning of similar program elements, access to light, use of modular casework and the introduction of collaborative social spaces will provide the necessary ingredients for forward-thinking learning and research within the design of this facility.
